Who is Dan?

Daniel Nielsen, an entrepreneur, closed his spring factory in Denmark, and set sail for Canada with his family in 1956.  Dan’s Welding & Fabricating Ltd. opened in 1960 on Brant Street in Burlington Ontario.  In 1970, their son Eric Nielsen took over the reins, moved the shop to 3485 Mainway, and built the business to what it is today.  Sadly Dan passed away Nov 24, 2000 at the age of 89 years old, but had continued to be a part of Dan’s Welding into his mid-80’s.

While Eric is still the President of Dan’s Welding, his daughter Allison made the decision to join the company in 2004 as Vice President, making her the third generation managing this family business.  Allison works together with Bill Myers, General Manager, who started with Dan’s Welding in 1982.  Working alongside Eric for so many years, Bill’s knowledge and experience have made him an integral part of the company. Together with 21 full-time employees, they are all working hard to keep Dan’s dream alive!

Due to being completely custom, Dan's Welding and Fabricating Ltd. has serviced a wide variety of industries including material handling, construction, food industry, and all types of manufacturing companies. Almost everything can be done from repairing a kitchen chair, to fabricating an operational milk bagging machine, to refurbishing a swing bridge in Perth Ontario.  The variety of work is exciting and all the ideas come from you.
